Banana Nut Breakfast Cereal!

Cereal is a great healthy breakfast option if you aren’t an oatmeal fan. Just make sure you choose a healthy cereal that isn’t full of sugar! The best thing to do is buy a plain cereal that is full of whole grains & no added sugar. The plain cereals I like are Total & Bran flakes. Total cereal is a great source of iron which a lot of women have low iron & don’t like eating red meat this cereal is a great option. This way you can add all natural toppings to it instead of the dry fruits that they claim are real fruit but never tastes the same. I personally hate the taste of artificial bananas & strawberries. I would so much rather add my own fresh fruits & nuts. You can add so many other toppings to cereal fruits, nuts & seeds. My other favorites are chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seed & wheat germ. You can change it up each day so your plain cereal will never get boring & you will have a heathy filling breakfast.

I just added bananas, walnuts, flax seed & wheat germ. Just add your favorite milk & you have the perfect healthy breakfast! ( Vanilla almond milk is the best for cereal! It gives it a completely different flavor!) What’s your favorite healthy cereal ?

Grab & Go Breakfast Idea! Cereal!

I love eating cereal it’s definitely one of my favorite breakfast foods. However cereal is very hard to eat on the go so I only eat it on the weekends when I’m not working. I’ve recently noticed in the super markets milks in to go boxes like juice boxes when we were kids! I don’t know if they have been around awhile & I just haven’t noticed but it is now my new favorite thing! Especially since most places don’t offer almond milk or soy milk these are perfect to bring to work or school. I’ve started putting dry cereal in mason jars for the week I’ll put everything together sunday night & each morning grab a milk box (what I call them my boyfriend makes fun of me!) & a different cereal. I top my cereal with a banana, strawberries, walnuts & flaxseed it definitely fills me up for the day! The mason jar is perfect because it is small enough to fit into a lunch box, some Tupperware can be big, bulky & take up a lot of space. Hope you like this idea & try it out as a new grab & go breakfast option! Let us know if you have any other ideas for breakfast on the go!

Great Grab & Go Breakfast Ideas!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day & it is important to start your day off right! Studies show people that eat breakfast weigh less than people that skip breakfast. Eating in the morning jump starts your metabolism & eating foods that keep you full longer reduce your calorie intake for the day! Who doesn’t want that? Most people wake up early in the morning & rush off to work. I sleep to the very last possible second so I’m always grabbing my breakfast & running out the door! These are great breakfast options with perfect combinations of protein & carbs!

Top Left- Smoothies are a great way to get your fill of fruits or veggies! When I am too lazy to make my own I grab this one its one of my favorites! I’m also a big fan of Naked Juices & Odwalla. Bananas are the number one grab & go fruit I love them! To add some protein to this you can pre make hard boiled eggs the night before or grab a greek yogurt.

Top Right- I love yogurt parfaits! I like making my own I use greek yogurt with some granola or these kashi cereals are amazing! Sometime granola can have a lot of calories & saturated fats. This cereal is another options instead of granola & has a good amount of protein to keep you fuller longer! I always like to have a piece of fruit with my breakfast so choose whichever fruit is your favorite. Right now I’m loving Gala apples!

Bottom Left- Whole Wheat Bread or Waffles are perfect with some peanut butter or almond butter. Great balance of carbs & protein! I love peanut butter with pears, apples or bananas!

Bottom Right- Overnight oatmeal I posted this recipe earlier. It is my number 1 grab & go breakfast. Prep the night before & you are all set!
